Planning commission approves 16 consent items including short‑term rental permits and land‑use modifications

The Planning Commission placed 16 matters on a consent agenda and recommended them for approval by recorded vote of 11–0 (with previously recorded abstentions noted). The consent block included minutes and the Planning Commission annual report, the workforce‑housing ordinance amendment, subdivision and variance requests, a church modification on Greenwich Road, conditional use permits for a residential kennel and an adult day care, conditional rezonings and conditional use permits for a contractor storage yard, and a slate of short‑term rental conditional use permits at oceanfront addresses.

Notable consent items: staff recommended approval of the workforce housing text amendment (Item 3) to align rules with federal programs; a conditional use permit for an adult day care to serve up to seven adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities (Item 13); a request for a residential kennel for up to 12 dogs on an AG‑2 parcel (Item 12); and several short‑term rental CUPs at oceanfront condominium and single‑family addresses (Items 18–21). Staff reported no opposition for many of the items and said required conditions were acceptable to applicants who appeared at the hearing.

The commission’s consent recommendation will be transmitted to City Council for final action; staff will contact applicants about scheduling. The consent vote was recorded in the minutes (11–0), and staff reminded applicants that items on the consent agenda will be scheduled for an upcoming City Council meeting.
