Port Neches-Groves ISD outlined the district's High-Quality Pre-K (HQPK) activities under House Bill 3 guidance in the Parent and Family Engagement Policy presented June 9.
The plan describes transition activities intended to ease the move from Pre-K to Kindergarten, an aligned Pre-K/K curriculum, Kindergarten Roundup events for families, and early learning coordinators assigned to primary campuses. The district said it provides a series of parent learning sessions during the school year with informational content and question-and-answer time, plus take-home items for participants.
The policy lists district contacts for Pre-K information: Staci Gary (Director of District Programs), Angela Abel (Early Learning Support Coordinator, Groves Primary School) and Maisie Benoit (Early Learning Support Coordinator, Port Neches Primary School). The policy text states these activities aim to "help build a shared understanding of how we can work together to ensure every child will reach their full potential, from birth to kindergarten and beyond."
