On Aug. 10 the Hartford City Council voted to suspend the rules to add items 8.1 through 8.23 and then moved a large set of mayoral and council-originated items to the consent calendar.
Major items read into the record included a resolution to accept $100,000 from Friends of Keeney Park Inc. for design work on a Keeney Park performance bandshell; multiple grants from the North Central Area Agency on Aging for programs covering 'Keep on Living,' homeless outreach for the elderly, heart and home health and chronic disease self-management; several Lots-to-Homes redevelopment property sales (including 22–24 Westland Street, 230 Capen Street, 905 West Boulevard, 2243 Main Street and others); confirmation of an appointment (Casey Moran) to the Greater Hartford Transit District board; and authorization to enter a 15-year tax abatement agreement with renewal options for the Edge 400 project at 332 & 344 Newpark Avenue.
Council approved the consent calendar after removing item 3.10 for separate action. Most consent items were placed on the calendar and approved by roll call without extended debate during the public meeting.
