Needville staff outlines drainage, mobility and subsidence planning work

Chris Steubing delivered a multipart planning update covering the Master Drainage Plan adoption process (final presentation completed in December; formal adoption expected in March or April), the Water/Wastewater Master Plan adoption timeline, and the Mobility Master Plan consultant selection. Steubing said the Fort Bend Subsidence District's 2025 District Plan includes Needville in Phase B, and the city must begin work toward a Groundwater Reduction Plan to have adopted by 2035.
Steubing also summarized ongoing policy and administrative work including procurement policy adoption and draft fleet and technology replacement policies. He advised staff is working on development-code review items such as commercial site development, parking, signage and lighting, and noted staff has begun a wastewater treatment plant assessment with consultant Ardurra. "And just like that February is here and 2026 is off to a rapid start," Steubing said in his report.
