Tree Board readies Sept. 24 planting and grant paperwork; Arbor Day set for Oct. 5

Nancy Thill, a Tree Board member and councilor, told the council Sept. 6 that new trees purchased through a grant will be planted in the park on Sept. 24 and that paperwork documenting expenditures is due Sept. 30 because the grant’s completion date is Sept. 1, 2025.
Thill said the board may reapply for a grant for 2025 and noted that AEP has resumed tree-trimming work. She reminded residents that Arbor Day will take place Oct. 5 at 11 a.m. EST and invited everyone to attend.
The council did not record grant dollar amounts in the minutes; staff said they will submit documentation of expenditures to meet the grant deadline.
