When asked whether investigations would extend beyond Los Angeles, Secretary Turner said the White House fraud task force — with HUD, HHS and DOJ participation — is looking at multiple jurisdictions and named Boston, Minnesota and Washington state among places already identified. He said the administration will "follow the money, demand proof, and hold actors accountable" when taxpayer dollars are used improperly.
Turner framed the effort as nonpartisan enforcement: "If people are being fraudsters... this is the day and age under President Trump... we're no longer gonna stand for people to defraud the American people." He said investigations are ongoing in multiple cities and that HUD will coordinate with HHS and DOJ as part of the task force's review of fraud, waste and abuse in homelessness programs.
