CRA board approves $50,000 improvement grant for Gulf Shore Custom Woodworking

Long said the average project estimate was $71,134, which would make the 75% share larger than the $50,000 cap.
Owner Alan Heaving spoke for the business and said the work will focus on painting, paving and landscape improvements. “I’m the owner of Gulf Shore Custom Woodworks,” Heaving said, describing plans to clear the rear lot, add lawn and plantings and refresh exterior paint. Board members questioned whether landscaping quotes had been submitted; Heaving said the landscaping quote had been emailed and the board confirmed the grant would be limited to the $50,000 maximum even if the contractor estimate was higher.
After brief discussion about the scope and the grant cap, the board took a voice vote and approved the recommendation to award a commercial property improvement matching grant not to exceed $50,000 to the property at 2570 Franklin Street. The motion was read into the record before the vote.
