The Town of Twisp Parks and Recreation Commission agreed Sept. 10, 2025, to move forward on preparing materials for a Department of Natural Resources (DNR) land-transfer grant application after hearing public feedback described by commissioners as “generally in support with a couple of concerns.” Commissioners Nick Hershenow and Allen Jircik will summarize the public input and related data after the 15th of the month to prepare the application.
Commissioners noted the purpose of the step is to collect and synthesize community comments before the formal submittal. No formal vote was recorded; the action captured in the minutes is a staff/commission follow-up assignment rather than adoption of a final application. The commission added a public comment period to the agenda to hear directly from residents and stakeholders about the proposed transfer.
