County Manager Thomas Weaver told commissioners the county has been negotiating with the IGSA-run stray facility but that the facility could not meet the county’s requirements for veterinary care and euthanasia services. As a result, Weaver said the county’s final day using the stray facility will be May 9.
Weaver said staff had been discussing options and would keep commissioners and the public updated. The minutes record that staff and the prospective facility discussed terms but concluded the facility could not meet the county’s needs; commissioners asked staff to report back on alternative arrangements before May 9.
