Officials noted that the grants are reimbursement grants and "the funds are required to be outlaid to meet the requirements for the grants." The next brush truck was estimated at $275,000; $265,000 of that amount is expected to be reimbursed to the fire department. The department asked the city to temporarily front $265,000 so the purchase can proceed; the motion to provide temporary funding was moved by Klay Gilbert, seconded by Robert Sharp and carried 3-0.
