Coast RTA credits local funding measure, announces $25.5M award for Myrtle Beach transit facility

Piasik said the agency was informed that Senator Graham’s office secured a $25,500,000 award for a bus operating and maintenance facility and transit center in Myrtle Beach, which Coast RTA said uses the local funding measure as matching funds. "We've been awarded 25,500,000 for our bus operating maintenance facility and transit center in Myrtle Beach," Piasik said, thanking the committee and voters for sustained support.
Why it matters: Dedicated local transit funding and the federal award together are intended to stabilize service and fund capital investment and a transit center, which Coast RTA says will benefit residents, workers and visitors across the Grand Strand region.
