Staff recommended moving the millage to 0 for the 2025 tax year and scheduling an informal January meeting to poll owners before proceeding. "So our recommendation is that we essentially move that millage to 0 for 2025 tax year," Barry told council.
Council voted unanimously to carry the resolution and delay the tax billing while staff schedules community outreach and returns with results and next steps; staff said if owners confirm support the district can resume billing next year or the county will unwind the ordinance if owners rescind support.
