She reminded the council that a flu-shot clinic is scheduled for Oct. 11, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., said the town could accept donations for hurricane victims and suggested Samaritan’s Purse or Cajun Navy 2016 as recipients, and noted that an in-house cybersecurity risk assessment of the town's water, sewer and billing operations was completed that day by CISA (the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency).
Cummings also said she had received an email indicating the Public Employees Insurance Agency (PEIA) is projecting a 14% increase in premiums for the next fiscal year and that deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums are expected to increase substantially; she said she would schedule a supervisors' meeting to develop options for council consideration. The minutes do not specify the final premium amounts or the supervisors' meeting date.
