The sewer committee reported at the Feb. 18 meeting that cold weather caused some delays on the plant site but that the overall schedule remains on track. Engineering has completed the latest review of rules and regulations and the document will next go to legal review before the committee publishes it for public comment.
Committee members said Cedarwood will contact property owners who submitted easement forms to schedule final assessments required for lateral connections. They emphasized connections cannot be completed until the plant is operational and that some properties may require pumping to meet final connection heights.
Financing and the construction-to-operation transition are active items: the committee is coordinating with the Lake Champlain/Lake George Regional Planning Board and Cedarwood to finalize the plan for moving the project into operation. The committee also noted earlier work on the Skee Ballpark connections and plans to reconstitute the Skee Ball committee in the near term.
Next steps: complete legal review of rules and regs, schedule property assessments with Cedarwood, and finalize the financing plan for transition to operation.
