Johnsburg board backs letter of support for Crane Mountain trail easement

Adam Pearsall described the easement's history, saying members of his family and previous owner Don Green started the process decades earlier and that the family offered the gift to preserve historic public access from the Johnsburg side of Crane Mountain. The chair read a resolution acknowledging the state's request for comment and authorizing the director to transmit a letter of support on behalf of the town.
The resolution passed after a motion and second and the board moved on to other business. The board also noted that Pete Olszewski offered to draft a letter on the town's behalf.
Next steps: the director of public property and programs will draft and send the Town's letter of support to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
