Organizer outlines Johnsburg events, website for Teddy Roosevelt 125th anniversary

Tony Cucchiara, who presented to the Town of Johnsburg board, said the website for the 125th anniversary of Teddy Roosevelt’s night ride is now live and will centralize schedules, event details and QR-linked postcards for public outreach. “The URL for the website is now live,” Cucchiara said, and the QR codes on the mailed postcard will link residents to ongoing updates and event listings.
Cucchiara described several projects funded in part by a Johnsburg occupancy-tax grant: an illustrated map to be published around April 15, a dramatization of Eloise Cronin Murphy’s booklet to be staged by local radio players in late August or early September, special museum exhibits opening over Memorial Day weekend, and “a parade… set up for Saturday, September 12,” which will include a horse-drawn carriage, vintage cars and a TR impersonator who will speak from the Depot Museum platform. He said the planning effort spans multiple towns and museums and includes an advisory board; the honorary chairman is former Governor George Pataki, who the organizers hope will attend some events.
The organizer invited questions after demonstrating the site; board members did not raise substantive objections and thanked the presenter. The website and the group’s Facebook page are the principal channels organizers said they will use for updates and ticket/participation information.
