The Navasota City Council approved a $64,125 quote Oct. 14 to complete phase 1 of the citywide wayfinding project.
City staff said the previously contracted vendor, National Signs LLC, has claimed bankruptcy and can no longer deliver the remaining signs. To keep the project moving, staff obtained a cooperative‑procurement quote from EZ Signs Inc. (Choice Partners) for $64,125 for the remaining signs, which is lower than the prior estimate of about $80,000. “The total amount that we're asking for tonight is that quote that EZ Signs are providing us for those signs at 64,125 dollars,” staff said.
Mayor Bert Miller moved to approve quote 3923; the motion was seconded and the council voted in favor with no opposition recorded. Staff said the signage costs were planned to be covered by hotel‑motel tax funds earmarked for tourism and wayfinding projects.
