Residents urge Nutter Fort to repair pothole, add traffic calming and increase police presence

During the public-comment period resident Jennifer Robinson asked whether the ambulance payoff needed formal agenda placement (the Treasurer said it was discussed with the truck purchase), raised a pothole near Illinois Avenue/Bryan Street (Public Works Supervisor Taylor Keith said it will be repaired during upcoming paving), and asked about speed-bump complaints (Taylor Keith noted a few complaints and said existing regulation speed bumps will be painted once paving occurs). Robinson also noted that Jim Link’s name had been removed from the town website; Mayor Sam Maxson said Link had resigned. Resident Kenneth Johnson asked for a speed bump on Maryland Avenue because of speeding, reported seeing more homeless individuals and drug users in town, and asked when the town would increase police presence; he suggested a neighborhood-watch program.
