Council hears progress reports on Phase IV sewer, Phase I/II AMD closeout and other projects

The town's engineer reported that Phase IV sewer line work is complete and that the contractor has roughly two weeks of concrete and sidewalk work remaining before paving begins. "Will be presenting change order at next meeting for concrete steps, stored materials and quantity adjustments," the engineer said, noting pay applications will follow the closeout steps.
Council was told Phase V sewer is on hold with no timetable provided. For the AMD projects, Phase I is in closeout with a forthcoming Change Order 3 for additional paving and screening and one to two pay applications remaining. Phase II's NEPA environmental assessment was submitted to the Appalachian Mining Lands (AML) office for initial comment, those comments were addressed and the package was resubmitted for final approval before sending to the Office of Surface Mining (OSM). Separately, the Route 20 corridor procurement had a bid opening on Oct. 9 and a preconstruction conference is scheduled Nov. 14; a recommendation for award will be presented at the next council meeting.
