The board approved a renewal license for the district's cybersecurity training program — cited in the meeting as NINJIO (Prodigi Plus) — for $14,318.40.
Superintendent Kramer and IT staff explained the product: short, animated two- to three-minute episodes with follow-up quizzes and simulated phishing emails that test employee responses. "It's an animated series ... and then it will be 2 to 3 minutes long ... and then it gives you strategies, and it also provides a quiz at the end," Kramer said. IT staff (Ian) noted the training is practical for day-to-day prevention and helps staff recognize suspicious emails.
Trustees emphasized liability concerns: one trustee observed insurers require this type of training. The vote to approve the $14,318.40 expenditure carried on the board's voice vote; trustees emphasized the program's role in continuous education rather than a single annual presentation.
