Nutter Fort council appoints Emily Lamm to vacant seat; Kathy Powell joins Library Board

At its Sept. 24 meeting the Nutter Fort Town Council unanimously appointed Emily Lamm to a vacant council seat through June 30, 2025 and named Kathy Powell to the Library Board through June 30, 2025. Both appointments passed by unanimous votes with formal motions and seconds recorded in the minutes.
Mayor Sam Maxson and the Nutter Fort Town Council unanimously appointed Emily Lamm to fill the council seat vacated by Jim Link, with the appointment running through June 30, 2025. The nomination followed interviews of five candidates requested by the mayor; Councilor Rick Lafferty moved in support and Charlene Louk seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
The council also appointed Kathy Powell to the town Library Board to fill a vacant seat through June 30, 2025. Recorder Natalie Haddix moved the appointment, which was seconded by Councilor Karen Phillips and approved unanimously. In discussion Rick Lafferty described Lamm as "forward and positive thinking," per the meeting minutes.
