Clerk Melody Hall told trustees that several water accounts were several months past due and that repeated notices and phone calls had not prompted payment. Trustee Tim Stage proposed sending a certified letter giving account holders 30 days from the letter date to pay in full or make payment arrangements or have their water shut off. Trustee Cheryl Stevens moved to send the letter, Trustee Stage seconded, and the board approved the motion in a roll-call vote (Ayes: Diane Brown, Angie Chandlee, Cheryl Stevens, Tim Stage; Absent: Christian Spahr).
Mr. Tucker, speaking during public comment, suggested posting a copy of the village's water ordinance showing shutoff after 10 days past due; he also reminded the board that a trustee cannot be paid to paint village property. The board did not adopt any changes to the ordinance at the meeting.
