Village staff presented a project manual and cost estimate for the Well Pump Rehabilitation project and recommended moving to advertise for bids once inspections are complete.
The engineer explained that the base repair work is estimated at about $83,000, with supplemental items that could raise the total project cost. "I put up at the bottom a project budget range of 84 to a $112,000 depending on what we find, following inspection," staff said. Based on that range, staff proposed a bid schedule and said they could advertise and open bids in the coming weeks.
The board discussed contingency items (brushing, bowl assembly replacement, column pipe replacement) and agreed to proceed with inspections and advertise as recommended. If supplemental repairs are required after televising and inspection, staff said those would be bid as alternate items to avoid overpaying for unnecessary full replacements.
