The Ichabod Crane Central School District Board of Education on April 22 voted 6-0 to adopt for presentation to voters a proposed 2025–2026 budget totaling $51,143,999.
Board member Kelly Firmbach moved the motion, which passed unanimously. The district will hold a public Budget Hearing and regular meeting on May 6, 2025 at 7:00 p.m., a Meet the Candidates night on May 12, 2025, and the Budget Vote and Election on May 20, 2025 from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the high school gymnasium. The minutes record the adoption of the proposition language presented to voters as: "Shall the Board of Education of the [district] be authorized to expend the total amount of $51,143,999 during the school year 2025-2026 and to levy the necessary tax therefor?"
Superintendent Marie Digirolamo and Business Manager Michael Brennan participated in a brief final budget presentation and review of the Real Property Tax Report Card before the board voted to put the proposition on the ballot. The board accepted the property tax report card as part of the consent agenda earlier in the meeting. The district will publish the standard voter information and tax impact materials ahead of the May 20 vote.
