Ichabod Crane board accepts consent agenda including teacher appointments, contracts and donations

Board Vice‑President Elizabeth Phillips presided over a special meeting June 17 in the high school library where the Ichabod Crane Central School District Board approved the consent agenda by motion (MOTION NELSON 2ND DIORIO) carried 8‑0.

The consent items included acceptance of the resignation of Michelle Schmidt, Teaching Assistant, effective June 27, 2025; approval of CPSE and CSE recommendations for the 2025–2026 school year (meeting dates listed in the minutes); and approval of student teacher and intern assignments, for example Sophia Martino and Laura Sarno scheduled 8/27/25–6/25/26. Superintendent Marie Digirolamo recommended the conditional appointment of Taylor Meyer to a probationary position in Elementary Education (Masters Step 4) for a four‑year period beginning on or about Aug. 27, 2025 and expiring on or about Aug. 26, 2029, pending New York State Education Department certification and safety clearance; a similar conditional appointment was approved for Madelyn Percy in Special Education. The Board also approved the appointment of Tanya Hamm as a .6 FTE art teacher (prorated Step 5) for the 2025–26 school year and granted an unpaid leave of absence for Dell Potts for fall 2025.

The Board authorized a 2024–2025 Health Services Contract with Albany City School District for 20 students attending private schools (Albany Academies and Holy Names) in the amount of $23,398.40. Per Board Policy #1800 the Board accepted a $746 donation from TEMPO for Primary School equipment (increasing the 2024–25 budget from $50,192,725 to $50,193,471 under appropriation A2110.510‑05‑2100) and an anonymous $17 donation to cover two diplomas (increasing the budget to $50,193,488 under A1010.503‑00‑0000). The consent agenda also included summer staffing approvals for Invitations Program, Summer ENL, ESY and middle/high school programs.
