EURA OKs $7,500 engineering construction-phase agreement for State Street beautification

The board authorized a not-to-exceed $7,500 construction-phase services agreement with Ackerman Estebold for the State Street beautification project, adopting resolution 26-019 on July 21. The contract covers construction-phase coordination, submittal reviews, inspections, RFI management and ACHD coordination.

Antonio Guntia Camarena Estevo (S6), who introduced himself and described the scope, told the board: "What this portion of the contract usually, when we do the design, we don't add our construction phase. We just want to wait to see who the contractor is..." He said the work includes reviewing contractor RFIs, coordinating inspections and ACHD preconstruction meetings. The contract is structured as time-and-materials up to the $7,500 ceiling and the speaker said actual costs will likely be lower if construction proceeds without major issues.

Board members asked about timing and the tentative contractor start date; staff said the contractor's tentative start date was July 27 and that the contract could require a future time extension depending on schedule. The motion to approve the agreement passed on roll call with the members present recorded as aye.
