District reports window replacements, library foundation approval pending and safety meeting schedule

Facilities and safety items were reported during committee reports at the Feb. 24 board meeting. Superintendent Merritt Holly said window installation is progressing at Wolcott Street School (Lapp wing); work remains on trim and tile prep where spots on Jr./Sr. High School bathroom walls were rejected and must be fixed. Planned window replacements in UPK classrooms, the cafeteria and band room are scheduled over spring recess. Work continues on the multi‑purpose field at Hartwood Park, weather permitting.
Mr. Holly noted that the district and Woodward Memorial Library are awaiting approval from the New York State Education Department for foundation work at the library; he expressed hope work can start in the spring. The districtwide safety committee meeting is scheduled for March 18 at 9:30 a.m. in Memorial Auditorium. The Shared Decision‑Making meeting previously scheduled for Feb. 3 was postponed and a new date has not been set.
