District School Improvement Team finalizes mission statement, seeks teacher and student input

The School Improvement Team finalized a draft mission statement Dec. 2 and will gather teacher and student input in January before presenting the mission, vision and core values to the board, Superintendent Merritt Holly said.
Superintendent Merritt Holly told the board Dec. 15 that the School Improvement Team has been meeting since July 2025 to update the district mission, vision and core values and align them with short‑ and long‑term goals and board graduate outcomes.
Mr. Holly said the mission statement was finalized at the Dec. 2 meeting and teachers’ input will be reviewed at a Jan. 6 meeting. The team will seek student feedback via Mrs. Cain’s leadership class and class officers, and there will be an opportunity for parent feedback prior to presenting the revised mission, vision and core values to the board of education.
