The Le Roy Central School District facilities committee reported Dec. 15 that newly installed bathrooms at the Jr./Sr. High School have developed sharp cracks in tile walls and are currently closed to students.
According to the minutes, the contractor has been notified and the district believes the cracking is caused by insufficient mudding behind tile joints. The subcontractor will return to re‑muddle and re‑tile at its cost; the bathrooms will remain closed until the repairs are complete and the spaces are deemed safe for student use. The committee also reviewed five contingency 'wish list' projects and reported that, if contingency funds remain, four of the five could be accomplished within the capital project budget.
Mr. Loftus reported the findings and indicated timing for the repairs will be coordinated with the contractor and subcontractor.
