Committee adds two parcels to Lofton Creek View Shed after public input

The CLAM committee voted to add two parcels to the Lofton Creek View Shed project after members of the public and staff discussed ownership and parcel details.

Jeff Robinson, chair of the Amelia Walk Community Development District, told the committee that four parcels in his district are under consideration and that potential county acquisition would likely inherit existing maintenance contracts. Robinson asked staff to confirm whether the Amelia Walk parcels were on the recommended list; staff responded that much of the Amelia Walk nomination is included in the Lofton Creek View Shed priority area.

Later in the meeting, staff noted that two parcels raised during public input—the Amelia Walk Community Development parcel and a parcel identified as Ivy Christopher—could be added to the Lofton Creek project. With three members confirming no conflict related to those parcels, a motion to include them was moved and seconded and passed by voice vote.

Staff said that while inclusion on the CLAM list signals priority for outreach and negotiation, placement does not guarantee purchase; county staff will contact owners and proceed with due diligence and any required contract reviews.
