Superintendent: Genesee Valley BOCES capital project vote delayed by SEQRA review
Summary
Superintendent Merritt Holly told the board that SEQRA reporting delays mean a planned March 31 vote on the Genesee Valley BOCES capital project is not feasible; BOCES is now considering June or September and possibly holding votes at BOCES campuses instead of each component district.

Superintendent Merritt Holly reported to the board that Genesee Valley BOCES postponed its previously targeted March 31 vote date after SEQRA environmental reports were not finalized.
Holly said a Jan. 22 Zoom meeting with superintendents and Dr. Julie Donlon from BOCES reviewed component‑district concerns, and a follow‑up in‑person meeting occurred Jan. 23. BOCES is considering alternative vote windows in June or September and is researching whether votes might be conducted at BOCES campuses rather than by each participating district. Work on the potential purchase of the Munson Street property remains in progress.
The superintendent presented these updates as part of his regular report; no formal board action on the BOCES capital project was taken at the Jan. 26 meeting.
