Staff warns cannabis processor may need specialized state building‑code compliance; Standard Wellness absent from meeting

S1 told the commission that a business identified as Standard Wellness did not attend the meeting and reminded members that the Planning and Zoning Commission does not issue business licenses. The chair noted that if Standard Wellness proposes processing or extraction on site, state building codes impose specialized requirements such as explosion‑rated switches and fixtures and specific grounding and electrical systems.

The chair said staff will identify state requirements to help applicants understand what they must meet when they return. "If they're processing and then doing extraction, there was, like, explosive proof switches and sockets and, like, lighting fixtures," S1 said, and recommended staff research state codes so the commission can advise the applicant on compliance and plan review.
