Director of Teaching and Learning Pamela told the board that summer school closed in late July with more than 400 students participating and that 102 students attended the district's reading-boost program. "We had over 400 students in summer school, 102 students in our reading boost program," she said.
Pamela also described an expanded new-teacher in-service now running two days to allow mentor and mentee time for procedures, curriculum orientation and a district bus tour. The director summarized MLSS (multi-layered systems of support) framework training and introduced a depth-of-knowledge handout tied to the K–5 math pilot, saying the district will analyze how much time students spend at higher cognitive levels and adjust instruction accordingly.
