Student rep urges clearer communication about fall sports after gymnastics surprise

Student representative Emma Rubar used her reports time to ask the board to improve communication around fall athletics. "I I like how you guys talked about, how fall sports are coming up soon because a lot of my friends do different sports," she said, adding that many students did not realize the gymnastics program was on the chopping block.
Board members agreed to expand outreach, including using principals' newsletters and social media to post board meeting dates and athletics information, and to plan presentations for the fall so parents and students are informed before decisions are finalized.
