Central Square board swears in members and elects Stephen Patch president

The Central Square Central School District board opened its annual organization meeting with administering oaths and confirming leadership roles. Pearlhorn, the district clerk, administered oaths to returning members Allison Douglas and Kenneth Sherman and to new member Ryan Lucas; student representative Emma Rubar also was sworn in.
Stephen Patch was selected board president after a nomination and voice vote. Patch affirmed his oath upon being elected: "I, Stephen Patch, do solemnly swear that I'll support the constitution of United States and the constitution of the state of New York," he said during the ceremony. Christy Fishman was elected vice president by motion and voice vote.
The board approved appointments for district treasurer, deputy treasurer and district clerk and confirmed committee assignments, including policy and audit committee memberships. The board also named a voting delegate and an alternate for external meetings and adopted routine designations and authorizations for the coming year. All routine items were passed by voice vote with no roll-call tallies provided.
