Three Crowns Golf Club reports 4,000 rounds in June; outlines projects and staffing challenges

Jeff Kelly presented the Three Crowns Golf Club report to the board. "There were ~4k rounds played in June," Kelly reported, and he told the board that revenue was short of budget but up about 7% compared with last year. Kelly said merchandise sales were up about 10% compared to last year and that club sales and fitting were also higher. He noted that food-and-beverage operations continue to struggle with staffing turnover.

Kelly outlined current projects at the course: reworking hole No. 10 to a mid-length par 4, updating hole No. 18 to a par 5, and evaluating converting the holding area between holes 2 and 5 into an additional water holding area. He reported vendor and firewall changes intended to stabilize internet and phone connections, and said the club selected a large tank hot-water heater (about one-third the cost of a tankless option). Kelly also told the board that independent auditors identified two findings—petty cash handling and barter/trade agreements—and that club management is taking steps to improve procedures and documentation.
