Board certifies roughly 62‑acre agricultural enclave under state statute

County staff presented an agricultural enclave application seeking certification under the applicable Florida statutes. The subject property, roughly 62 acres south of the Hillsborough–Pasco county line near North Dale Mabry Highway, was reviewed against statutory criteria including single ownership, at least five years of bona fide agricultural use, perimeter and adjacency thresholds, and public service maximums.

Cammy Corbett, representing the applicant, requested certification and showed maps illustrating adjacent developments and the site's perimeter calculation. Corbett said the property and its surrounding pattern supported certification and noted staff had a "difference of opinion" on one adjacency point but the application met other criteria. Staff concluded the property complied with statute requirements and the board voted to certify the enclave, 7‑0.

The certification records that the property meets statutory size and adjacency rules and that reviewers found no objections from other departments. Certification enables the applicant to pursue the development pattern permitted under the agricultural enclave designation; further land‑use or development steps will follow.
