Council approves $112,619 net decrease to shuttle stops contract

The Brian Head Town Council voted unanimously July 28 to authorize the Town Manager to decrease the existing contract with Larry Pendleton Building, LLC for the Shuttle Stops Crosswalk Project by $112,619. Council Member Tidwell moved the authorization; Council Member Nyen seconded and the motion carried 5-0.

Council members reviewed individual line items in the change order: deductions included removal of heated concrete from a ramp, replacement of a concrete sidewalk at the Giant Steps stop with asphalt, a simplified roof design for the shuttle-stop shelters, and removal of soil testing requirements; additions included other concrete work and project modifications. Council Member Freeberg asked about removal of an old septic tank at the Giant Steps location; the Mayor confirmed the tank was owned by the resort and its removal had been addressed through prior negotiations. The motion recorded the amount precisely: "decrease the existing contract with Larry Pendleton Building, LLC for the Shuttle Stops Crosswalk Project in the amount of $112,619 in a form approved by the Town Attorney."

Shane Williamson confirmed the removal of the heated sidewalk and associated concrete work had been discussed informally previously and that the change order formalized that decision. The Council included the change order in the meeting record and instructed staff to finalize contract documentation with the Town Attorney's approval.
