Westwood Shade Tree Committee reports April—June tree activity and logs multiple resident service requests

Committee members reviewed April through June tree work and confirmed entries will be updated in the TreeKeeper system this week. Reported monthly activity: April —6 3 trees removed, 2 trimmed, 25 planted, 1 stump ground; May —6 2 removed, 7 trimmed, 0 planted, 0 stumps ground; June —6 23 removed, 24 trimmed, 0 planted, 10 stumps ground. The Year-to-Date totals recorded were 32 trees removed, 40 trimmed, 25 planted, and 14 stumps ground.

The committee also logged a range of resident e-mails and requests: Grace Episcopal Church (9 Harrington Ave) requested pruning and a replacement tree; residents at 150 Sand Road and 142 2nd Avenue reported fallen limbs and were advised that trees were in acceptable condition; 49 Stratton reported a failed town-planted linden and private trees that were removed; residents at 15 Nugent Place, 78 Clinton and 149 Roosevelt requested new trees or pruning. Chairman Zambrano said he inquired about 642 Ackerman and was informed a tree removal permit was issued; Mr. Joe Pagan's email about a falling tree was noted but lacked an address for follow-up.
