Board adopts coaches handbook; discussion to broaden scope for cocurricular advisors

"So can we change the name of this from coach's handbook to cocurricular handbook?" a trustee asked, arguing the same standards should apply to nonathletic advisors and volunteers. Staff agreed it would be feasible to adjust the title and said printed copies could be updated; another trustee volunteered to help craft a companion document for volunteers. The board approved the handbook as presented by roll-call vote (6–0) and directed staff to pursue a broader version for nonstaff cocurricular participants.
Trustees also recommended annual acknowledgments and HR retention of signoffs for those expected to interact with students outside the classroom.
