The district administrator updated the board on outreach and safety items and said the district has asked CESA 6 to help prepare communications about the recently approved referendum.
"From April through June, our Facebook page grew 5,601 followers," the district administrator said, adding the platform averages about 53,000 monthly viewers. The administrator urged board members to contact Nicole to register for the Oct. 13 regional meeting and noted an optional workshop on closed-session procedures the evening before.
The administrator also summarized a "3d response," a multi-layer school-safety approach that includes law-enforcement coordination, window protections and door-locking devices. Staff said the product does not provide a fixed quote because costs depend on a school’s footprint and existing systems and that any implementation would require a deeper cost analysis and follow-up direction from the board.
The update included a teacher spotlight: Morgan Jones, a first-year third-grade teacher, was one of a group selected to receive classroom supplies and among a smaller set given a $500 classroom shopping award. The administrator described the recognition as part of ongoing efforts to support educators as the district prepares outreach materials tied to the referendum.
