The North Merrick Board of Education unanimously elected Meg (Megan) Ryan as its president and Ed Corona as vice president during its July reorganization meeting.
The meeting opened with the district clerk calling the session to order and administering oaths to newly seated trustees. The clerk then called for nominations for president; Meg Ryan was nominated, no other nominations were offered and the clerk recorded a unanimous vote for her election. "Ms. Ryan, you are president," the clerk announced, and the oath was administered immediately afterward.
The board then moved to select a vice president. "I nominate Ed Corona," a member said; there were no additional nominations, and the board voted unanimously to make Mr. Corona vice president. The clerk administered the oath for that office as well. The board proceeded to conclude reorganization business and opened the regular July meeting.
No roll-call vote totals were recorded in the public transcript; the minutes and formal vote tallies will appear in the district's official minutes.
