During her remarks Dr. Cyniak told the board the district's universal prekindergarten (UPK) lottery has concluded and placements will be mailed to families this Friday. She emphasized that families must provide proof of residency before placements are verified and accepted.
"We have 114 seats," she said, and noted contracts for community-based UPK providers are on the agenda; those providers were selected after a request-for-proposals process and will partner with the district for the program's third year. Dr. Cyniak thanked the board for its support and said the district is moving into a fourth year of UPK programming overall.
The superintendent also directed families to the agenda for contract approvals and reminded parents that awarded providers met district criteria during the RFP evaluation.
