The Lansingburgh Central School District Board of Education unanimously conferred tenure on two teachers and approved a slate of personnel actions during its Jan. 27 meeting.
On the recommendation of the superintendent, the board "confers tenure upon the following teachers:" Susan Alberino (Reading, Turnpike Elementary School), effective Feb. 13, 2025, and Amanda Gregory (Reading, Turnpike Elementary School), effective March 26, 2025. The motion was made by Mrs. Manupella and seconded by Ms. Richards; the vote was recorded as Ayes 8, Nays 0.
The board also accepted instructional resignations including Kathleen Zarou (Teacher, TES), effective Jan. 17, 2025, and Christina Limson-Harvey (Teacher, KMS), effective Feb. 5, 2025. The board approved multiple instructional appointments, including long-term substitutes and substitute teachers with the daily rates and terms specified in the personnel sheet (for example, Meghan Howard as a long-term substitute at KMS and Savanna Caldwell as a long-term substitute at RPES). The board approved an unpaid leave for Madison Teta (Teaching Assistant, Lansingburgh High School) from Jan. 17 to May 31, 2025.
Noninstructional personnel actions included approval of an agreement with Employee #2020 (dated Dec. 13, 2024) and appointment of staff such as Stephanie O'Brien as Human Resource Specialist (permanent appointment with a six-month probationary period). The board approved additional after-school and enrichment assignments and stipends (e.g., $30/hour under Title II or IV funding for multiple Lansingburgh Academy and club facilitators) for the 2024-2025 school year.
