The Siuslaw School District board adopted policy KNA (immigration enforcement on district property) and two associated administrative rules at its Aug. 12 meeting to meet a state deadline. Superintendent Andy (S4) told directors the policy requires naming an immigration liaison, staff training and public reporting; the district's practice for handling judicial warrants and subpoenas will remain the same.
Andy said the law came from the attorney general’s office with a short turnaround, and the policy mirrors the district’s longtime approach to law‑enforcement interactions: compliance with judicially signed warrants and notification procedures for records requests. The board approved the policy by voice vote at the meeting.
