The board heard that social‑emotional learning is being implemented with Wayfinder lessons and a dedicated 30‑minute homeroom period. "We have a 30 minute dedicated homeroom... we have weekly counselor led and TOSA led meetings," said Shelby Gagnon, the district student‑success TOSA who described Wayfinder's core skills and the district's use of formative and summative SEL assessments. Presenters said the district has seen growth on several academic measures and is expanding math foundations and acceleration options for students.
Staff emphasized that some of the attendance problems reflect statewide trends tied to post‑COVID patterns and mental‑health issues; the board and administrators said work will continue on targeted supports. The board asked for follow up on how accountability buddies and tutorial interventions will be measured and requested regular updates on attendance trends and outcomes.
