SRPC report: community rates Mineral Point Schools "high-quality," praises communication and programs

On Aug. 25, 2025, the Board of Trustees of the Mineral Point Unified School District heard a presentation from the Southwest Regional Planning Commission summarizing community survey findings and outreach conducted in spring 2025. SRPC staff reported that returned surveys and three City Hall meetings showed broad community support for the district's educational quality and family engagement.
Alyssa Schaeffer, who opened the SRPC presentation, said slides from the report showed the community believed the district provided a "high-quality education," and cited strong, effective communication and well‑rounded student opportunities as commonly noted strengths. Schaeffer also told the board that survey responses highlighted student-centered engagement and an "open-door" approach to parent communication.
Board members were given an overview of the SRPC analysis and told they would receive the underlying survey output for review. SRPC staff said the survey summaries and slide deck will be shared with trustees to inform a broader multi‑year strategic planning effort. No formal votes or policy changes were taken at the meeting.
