Flambeau School Board approves hires, purchases and policy next steps; votes all unanimous

The Flambeau School District Board of Education met Dec. 17, 2025, and approved a slate of personnel and business items, with each recorded motion passing unanimously (Motion Carried 7-0).
The board approved hiring Tiffany Samens as a Special Education teacher and hired Kayla Anderson as Archery Co-Advisor. The board also approved several coaching changes: Hannah Hanson was moved from assistant to co-head high school girls’ softball coach and Scott Mateski’s role was changed from head coach to co-head; Roshel Dietsche was approved as the 2025–2026 girls’ basketball assistant coach. All personnel votes were recorded as roll-call votes and carried 7–0.
Financial and operational actions included acceptance of the Treasurer’s Report and approval of monthly expenditures and receipts. The board also approved purchasing a 2025 Ram Promaster 2500 outright; members discussed the choice to buy versus lease and requested greater consistency on vehicle decisions going forward.
The board accepted several community contributions and a small special-education grant (see separate article). District administration introduced a proposed Narcan policy and said it will be brought first to the Policy Committee before formal first and second readings by the full board.
The board scheduled a Finance meeting for 5:30 p.m. and the next regular meeting for 6:00 p.m. on Jan. 14, 2026. At 7:30 p.m. the board voted to convene in closed session under Wis. Stat. 19.85(1)(c) to review administrative personnel matters.
