Personnel Committee Chair Dr. Michele Rice moved to hire Steve Mattis as a full-time custodian at an initial hourly rate of $14.35 (Step 4) effective retroactive to Aug. 25, 2025; the motion was seconded by Craig Gibson and carried. "It is recommended that Steve Matttis be hired to the position of full-time Custodian at an initial hourly rate of $14.35 (Step 4) under the provisions of the CCSD Classified Employee Handbook retroactive to August 25, 2025," the minutes record.
The board also approved a military leave request from Ted Rakar for the 2025–26 school year under the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA), 38 United States Code, Sections 4301–4333. Separately, the board accepted the resignation of Jolene Dugan, Elementary Teacher, with a contractual release date not to exceed 60 calendar days from Aug. 27, 2025; the administration was authorized to post a long-term substitute position for the remainder of the 2025–26 school year.
