The board voted to award the cafeteria equipment bid to Douglas Equipment of Bluefield, West Virginia, for $55,979.26 to be paid from the Cafeteria Fund. The equipment package includes two roll-thru heated cabinets, two roll-thru refrigerators, one roll-in heated cabinet and one roll-in refrigerator; the motion was carried unanimously.
Separately, by resolution the board authorized advertisement and bidding for the Central Cambria Jackson Elementary School Heating System Upgrade project under the PDE Environmental Repairs Grant. The project scope described in the minutes includes replacement of the existing steam system with a hot water heating system (boilers, pumps, piping and accessories) and replacement of classroom unit ventilators. The minutes list a tentative advertisement (out-to-bid) date of May 13, 2025 and bid opening on June 12, 2025.
The motion to advertise and bid the Jackson Elementary project was approved and will require advertising for three consecutive weeks as the minutes describe; contract award decisions will follow the advertised bidding process.
